Hello there, thank you so much for taking the time to read my post!
A little bit about myself - I am an outgoing and knowledgeable 31-year-old working girl/student who is yet another victim of the extremely difficult economic times. I was recently laid off and am struggling to make ends meet and keep a roof over my head. Rather than rely on taxpayer money, government assistance and/or handouts, I am determined to work for a living and am trying all other possible avenues to earn money to support/feed myself.
I have knowledge/skills including but certainly not limited to the following areas of expertise:
Computer (I specialize in repairing and restoring desktop and laptop PC's that seem unfixable. Hardware/Software Installation & Troubleshooting, the entire Adobe Suite including Photoshop, In Design, Illustrator and Flash, Video editing using programs with varying degrees of difficulty including Final Cut Pro, Avid and Windows Movie Maker, Desktop/Laptop repair/upgrading/assembly, Setting up Wired/Wireless Networks/General Network Administration and Troubleshooting, Setting up Printers/Printing Software, General Software/Program tutoring/instruction, Web Design, HTML and other coding, blog/YouTube video creation, Social Networking, and much more. Video Games (I have extensive knowledge about video games and the gaming industry/gaming culture as a whole, as it is one of my most beloved hobbies. I have also taken a couple years of Video Game Design courses and am generally knowledgeable about coding/programming/art design/storyboard/etc. I can also simply teach you how to play your child's favorite game so you can share in the experience and better understand what they are being exposed to, hook up multiple gaming consoles including vintage ones, set up new gaming consoles and get them online and ready to play, etc.)
General Electronics (Hooking up and troubleshooting TV/Cable, setting up any brand of cell phone including Android and Apple and teaching you how to efficiently use it, setting up home theater/surround sound, setting up parental controls on various electronic devices and teaching how to maintain it, and many other skills related to electronics in general.)
Music (I was raised in a very musical household and have been singing and playing guitar since I was a toddler, my whole life. I can teach guitar, give singing lessons, and related to the computer skills I mentioned earlier, I am knowledgeable in the area of musical production whether it's digital or manual. I have at length used programs like Pro Tools, Fruity Loops, Magix Music Maker, Garage Band, Audacity, and others. I have a broad knowledge and love for many different genres of music and have composed/am currently composing hip-hop beats and other musical scores. Motion Picture/Television Production (In addition to my formal training in Computer Administration, I also have taken two years of Motion Picture and Television production courses and have worked many jobs in front of and behind the camera, including but not limited to acting, hosting, teleprompter (reading and running), Chyron, Storyboarding, Script/Screenwriting, Video Editing using programs as complex as Final Cut Pro & Avid and as simple as Windows Movie Maker, Production Assisting, Craft Services, 1st and 2nd AD, Grip, Gaffing, Art Director/Prop Manager, Location/Source Material Scouting, Financial planning/budgeting, Camera Operating, etc. Interned for one full year at MCTV where I was the host of "In the District" and "Directors Cut".)
Writing (I possess many useful writing skills including script/screenwriting, articles tailored for various forms of print and digital publications, blogging, term papers/essays, short stories, poetry, songwriting/composing, editorials/opinion pieces, writing descriptions/captions for selling items online, commercials/jingles, and many more. I was the editor of my high school newspaper and yearbook, worked at a professional newspaper as a staff writer in Northern Michigan for over a year, and was a contributor for a video gaming website)
Child Care (Mom, worked at daycare throughout high school as well as cared for two younger siblings on a full time basis)
Housekeeping (worked as a housekeeper at several hotels, as well as being one fantastic cleaning lady in general)
Hospitality (My main "trade", began as a dishwasher in a small restaurant at 11 years old, 20 total years in the restaurant industry, worked EVERY position in a restaurant/banquet/catering including management, bartending, serving, hosting, bussing, cooking, prep)
Automotive (grew up in Detroit, MI, the Motor City :) depending on make/model can replace brakes, change oil, flush fluids, replace alternator, fuses, windshield wipers, etc.)
Pet Care (owned and loved animals throughout my lifetime, can train/wash/walk/clean up after any animal big and small).
This is just a small list of the skills I possess (other examples of areas I am somewhat knowledgeable about include woodworking, landscaping, minor construction, hunting/fishing/camping/outdoor survival, secretarial/office assisting, professional organizing, and many others). I am simply looking for someone who needs to utilize one of them and will pay me :) I was raised to work hard and learn as much as you can about everything, and I'm hoping those values and that knowledge will lead me to an opportunity to be able to support myself without the need to ask for charity.
IMPORTANT: I will be completely honest about my level of expertise regarding the job you have in mind, although I am an extremely fast learner and hard worker and am willing to be taught/trained in any field. I have reliable vehicle with low mileage and am able to work any day and any shift (AM,PM,Overnights). I will give 100% to whatever job is offered, will beat ANY lowest written estimate you may have received on the job in question, and above all, I will be friendly, courteous, focused and trustworthy.
