Here we have an extremely rare guitar: a xxxx Gibson xxxx Reissue with Brazilian Rosewood back and sides.
As you know, Gibson made very few guitars with Brazilian back and sides. Even fewer of those were SJ-200s; and even fewer yet were high-end Custom models like this xxxx Reissue. This is a special piece.
The standout feature of this guitar is its amazing tone. Its ability to produce volume is astounding. It has loads of bass, all the response you could want. This is a phenomenal guitar.
The guitar is modeled after the original xxxx SJ-200s. It features a Sitka spruce top, Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, and a flamed maple neck. The figuring on the neck is remarkable - some of the best out there. The guitar also features an ebony fretboard and bridge. Gibson does not make any fretboards out of ebony any more, which is unfortunate. I love ebony fretboards. This cut of ebony is jet black and of the highest quality.
The Gibson logo at the top of the headstock is the classic script logo, as the original xxxx model had. It's a classy look.
This guitar is in excellent condition, showing only minimal signs of wear. Just a few pick marks on the pickguard, and some minor fading of the pickguard's paint (as can be seen in the photos). It has been well cared for during its life.
Included with the guitar is the original hardshell case.
