WANTED: Martial Arts Training Partner(s)
I am looking for 2 -3 people near the Deer Village Park Area in Peoria who area interested in martial arts and self defense training. Currently I am looking for people to work out and train with. I have availability three to five mornings a week, and/or 1-2 evenings a week as well as availability on Sundays and Mondays.
Who Is This For?
I would prefer Ranked Martial Artists who are looking to train in a POSITIVE, EGO-FREE, and SAFE training environment, but would consider the right person with less experience or a beginners.
What Do We Train?
We train in the following areas and each training partner is allowed the opportunity to pick and choose what cirriculum they want to focus on. Persons with rank in other systems would be encouraged to share related concepts from their art. The focus of training is to help one another become more efficient with their own expression of martial arts. My focus is on Self-Defense and NOT Sport. Not looking to Spar Full-Contact, but mainly . focus on training techniques, concepts and scenario based drills.
Training would include elements from the following disciplines:
Elements of Panantukan and basic stick work
No - Gi Judo
Pencak Silat (3 systems with an emphasis on Harimau)
Taiji Quan and elements of Bagua Zhang
Hatha Yoga Vinyasa specifically designed for martial arts conditioning
Offense / defense against weapons
Where Do We Train?
At my private home dojo in NW Peoria (Deer Village Park Area) fully furnished with Mats, Bags, Pads, and Training Weapons. I also have acces to a full sized commercial school.
How Do We Train?
We train using concepts of Progressive Resistance, where we gradually over time increase the level of resistance. Just like lifting weights everyone's "resistance" level will be different. Emphasis is on proper body mechanics and technical proficiency rather than speed and brute strength. I believe that SAFE TRAINING is SMART TRAINING, I do not believe you should leave training injured, but rather you should leave feeling better than when you came and not have to nurse unecessary injuries before training again.
This is an atmosphere of mutual respect, only like-minded individuals looking to help each other grow and develop their skills without the intrusion of ego, rank or political nonsense.
When do we train?
At the moment there is no "set schedule". We train according to each partner's availability usually between 1-2 hours in length.

Sunday & Mondays - by appointment
