... The State of Arizona will be accepting applications between July 18 and July 29th for issuing 30 new cannabis dispensary licenses. The application fee is $xxxx. The state expects between 200 to 300 applications. That is a 1 in 7 to 1 in 10 chance that any one application will be successful. Certainly better than playing the lottery. The bad part is that unsuccessful applicants only get $xxxx of their money back. The state keeps $xxxx.
Now, personally, I'm not a gambler and I'm not into risking $xxxx on a 1 in 7 or 1 in 10 chance of winning a license. On the other hand, a dispensary license would be worth millions. But, I would be willing to put up $500 on a shot at a million dollar operation. So, I am proposing we form a club of small contributors to put together the $xxxx application fee. The money would be held in escrow by my accountant in Sedona until it is forwarded to the state along with the application. If we don't get enough people together to come up with the $xxxx my accountant will refund all your funds.
