You must do the following to be considered for these positions:
1. You must have a valid AZ Guard Card (either unarmed or armed) to apply for these positions.
2. You must have a current resume.
3. You must have a working smart phone (Apple or Droid).
4. You must be willing to work anywhere in the Valley.
5. You must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed and required.
6. You must be at least 18 years of age.

** Important Note**
You must have an Arizona Unarmed Security Guard card to work for an agency in Arizona. If you add the Armed Security Guard card you may also work Armed for Security Agencies in Arizona as well.
Top 10 things to remember when applying for a job:
1. Bring a resume and DD-214 if applicable. Required for Armed Applicants.
2. Dress for an interview (shine your shoes and iron your clothes if needed, remove piercings, trim your hair and beard or shave if needed). Remember the public is not into fashion when they call for our help. Think to yourself, how would a police officer dress for an interview or how would I dress to work for the government.
3. Be prepared. Bring your drivers license, passport, social security card or any other document that you may need. (Always lock these up when your not using them. Do not carry these with you daily).
4. Ask questions to you have a clear understanding of what they are asking you do and the job functions. It is more than just pay. You need to be happy or you will never last at the job. Have clear expectations.
5. Make sure you know the status of your guard cards with AZDPS. To sign up for a guard card class click on REGISTER FOR CLASS at the top of the home page.
6. Have a realistic understanding of what the guard agency you are applying for is all about. Visit the website and check the BBB ratings of each company.
7. Bring a professional attitude and be prepared for a professional interview.
8. Know what the minimum income you require to live on is, so you know if the offer and pay scale even fits your budget and lifestyle requirements. (Be realistic). If you are paid bi-weekly that would be 26 pay periods or 52 for weekly.
9. Be realistic. Know how your skill set, experience and education relate to the job being offered. Go for the jobs that truly meet your ability to full fill the requirements.
10. Have a clean driving record and be willing to drive. You have to get to your post so that you may work at the site. This is no different than any other employee. Our offices are just located all over the valley. Remember it is no there problem that you may have to drive 40-50 miles to get to work. You decided to live there so if this is an issue don't apply to companies that are far away unless the job site is near you. In security the clients drive the need for our services. Please understand this is why your assignments often change, sometimes at the last minute.
